I have more kittens than I know what to do with! I have babies ready to go October 6 (newest arrivals - bottle babies), and Autumn and her babies will be set to go just before Halloween! It's a kitten overload! If you want to adopt a kitten, please let me know. Adoption fees to cover vet care, and supplies. Check the Rescue page for more photos and a price breakdown. Please spread the word that these kittens need responsible forever homes in October! I'd be willing to discount for anyone adopting two together - as long as they will be indoor and spayed/neutered by 20 weeks of age (contract required).
Still no babies from Mama Bun. I'm beginning to wonder if her breeding took. I'll leave the nest box in there until next Saturday (one week past when she was due) just to make sure.
Autumn has been treated for fleas, and seems to be much happier for it. I still see fleas on the babies, but the vet assured me than treating mom would treat the kittens by proxy. It's only been about seven hours since I put the treatment on, but I can see how relieved Autumn is. I also bought her a collar, so she can get used to the feeling of belonging to someone. I'm starting to put up ads for her now, and will start placing ads for the kittens once they're a little older (in three weeks or so). They won't be able to go until just before Halloween, but I'd like to have homes lined up for them if I can. Turtle Cheesecake is still here, waiting for her retirement home. She's a nice girl, but I know most people don't want an older pet. If she doesn't find a retirement home, she'll just stay here for the rest of her life. That's fine too. The sable hamster mama is doing well with her litter. Babies are starting to get some color. Looks like they'll all be banded, like their dad. Colors aren't known yet, but photos will be posted when they're furry! My other foster kitten is coming of age. He's four weeks old now, using the litter box, eating hard food, and playing. He still hasn't figured out how to drink from a bowl, but he'll figure it out in his own time. To help with his socialization, I've sought out another litter his age to foster, so he can have a foster-littermate (or a few). I think it'll be good for him to have someone his size to play with, and maybe then I can start leaving him home when I go to work (much to the dismay of my co-workers I'm sure). So check back for photos of the new foster(s) that are supposed to be coming this week! They (and my current foster baby) will be ready for new homes in about 4 weeks. Well, no baby bunnies this morning. We'll see if Mama Bun delivers for tomorrow morning.
Autumn Harvest and her kittens are settling in well. They're very cute, and will be ready for new homes at the end of October. I've named the two orange ones Mango and Pumpkin. The two buff ones are Onion and Parsnip. Donations to help with the expenses of their care would be greatly appreciated. Please see the Rescue page for details! |
